The cop last month denied the initial 20 charges against him, that are alleged to have taken place over a three-year period.

He was charged in October with raping one woman on a Tinder date in a hotel in September 2020.

Another three alleged victims then come forward in November last year, accusing him of a further 13 sex offences.

The CPS announced Carrick is now also facing one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration and one count of coercive and controlling behaviour, on top of six further counts of rape.

The string of incidents involve another four women and are alleged to have taken place between 2009 and 2018.

The 47-year-old will make his first court appearance in relation to the new charges at Westminster magistrates’ court on January 12.

Peter Burt, Senior District Crown Prosecutor for CPS Thames and Chiltern, said: “Following an ongoing investigation by Hertfordshire Constabulary, with continued support from the CPS, we have now charged David Carrick with a total of 29 alleged offences against eight women.”

Until his arrest, Carrick had been based within the Met Police’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command.

Carrick, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, is now charged with 13 counts of rape, five counts of sexual assualt and three counts of assault by penetration.

He is also charged with three counts of coercive and controlling behaviour, two counts of false imprisonment, one count of attempted rape, one count of attempted sexual assault by penetration and one count of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.

The Crown Prosecution Service announced they had authorised the Hertfordshire Constabulary to charge the cop with the new offences on Monday.

Carrick was remanded in custody in November after his first court appearance in relation to the initial charges.
