As efforts to fight for the GOP majority in the Senate heat up, Republicans across the country are working to rally voters in the Georgia runoff election.
With the election just over one month away, lawmakers and RNC officials are fighting to maintain faith in the power and importance of voting.
A number of Republican voters have lost their faith in the legitimacy of elections amid ongoing claims of voter fraud in the November election. A group of President Trump’s supporters is even calling for a boycott against the runoff races.
As part of the boycott, a number of these voters have reportedly suggested writing in President Trump instead of either incumbent Republican Senator, David Perdue or Kelly Loeffler.
Many of those in support of the boycott argue neither candidate has done enough to support the President’s claims of fraud in the 2020 election.
Prominent attorney Lin Wood has also pushed back on the runoff. He argued the November results should not have been certified due to the possibility of fraud.
Additionally, several conservative voters have expressed reluctance to cast their ballot at all. They believe the election is already rigged in Democrat’s favor.
However, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel argued voters should still exercise their right to decide the election.
“David Purdue still has a 100,000 vote lead over John Ossoff right now,” she stated. “So, if you lose your faith and people don’t vote and walk away, that will decide it.”
In the meantime, Georgia Rep. Doug Collins urged Georgians to vote and to keep track of local election laws.
Collins asserted the Georgia races are key to avoid Democrats undoing any progress conservatives have made in the last four years.
He is helping campaign for Sen. Loeffler and said he’s not willing to see “the country turn around the other way.”

In the meantime, President Trump is planning to visit the state to aid in campaigning efforts for the GOP candidates next weekend. The race for these two seats has been given extreme importance as it will determine whether the GOP maintains control of the upper chamber.
Georgians will cast their vote for the Senate on January 5.
